Dr. Koch is a licensed clinical psychologist and is the Clinical Director of Services at C4L. In addition to his focus on neuropsychological assessment, Dr, Koch is a child and adolescent psychologist and a key member of our C4L teams at various private schools. Dr. Koch began his career as a high school teacher, working 15 years in Irvine Unified School District. Since 2002, he has played a central role at the Center for Learning, focusing on neuropsychological assessment. In addition, Dr. Koch has had an ongoing presence at the private schools with which C4L has an affiliation. In his school work, Dr. Koch directs C4L programs and also plays a role in which his educational background and clinical psychology training are brought to play. These areas of expertise allow Dr. Koch to engage in a collaborative process with school administrators, teachers, and parents in order to support students with varied learning, social/emotional, and behavioral profiles.
Biography
Dr. Koch has also worked part-time in public mental health since 1999, focusing on providing both psychological assessment and treatment to an underserved population in central Orange County. He has participated in several research studies which have been presented as research posters at annual meetings of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Koch participates in several speaking engagements per year, addressing both parents and teachers in a wide array of topics, including learning styles, executive function, ADHD and other common mental health diagnoses, identifying red flags in children and adolescents, and learning how to access special education and other resources in the public school system.
